Over the weekend, 33 year-old Dustin Beaver and his two kids became lost after they asked a Texas hiker for directions to Dollar Lake in the Weminuche Wilderness of southwest Colorado reports the Denver Post. Beaver, who was accompanied by his 8 year-old daughter and 6 year-old, embarked on a Saturday trip to the lake when those directions put them on a series of livestock and wildlife trails.

After two days being lost, a search and rescue effort involving 30 rescue personnel and 2 helicopters was mobilized on Monday morning. Luckily, the family encountered a Australian family who later lead them to safety. They arrived at safety at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday evening.
