The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office announced a trail runner discovered more human remains Saturday morning about three-quarters of a mile from the front gate of Eldora as reported by 9news.com.
The remains are likely related to the foot found in a size 13 Rugged Outback Apex Leather left boot in the Eldora parking lot June 1st according to investigators. A matching right boot was discovered among the remains that were spread over a small area no larger than 20 feet.
Investigators believe the remains were likely on the hillside north of Peterson lake for months and belong to someone camping in the area.
The authorities have not identified the body but are still working under the assumption the newly found remains do not belong to missing resort employee Ryder Johnson after a DNA test confirmed the foot originally found in the parking lot did not belong to him.
