Here we go again. After Chile received a whopping 7′ of snow in 7 days to kick off the 2016 ski season, South America is forecasted to receive another dump of snow in the next 6 days.
So far, Snow-Forecast.com is calling for up to 82″ @ValleNevado!
“A heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Mon morning. Temperatures will be well below freezing (max 18°F on Mon night, min 5°F on Tue night). Winds decreasing (fresh winds from the WNW on Sun afternoon, light winds from the WNW by Tue night).” – Snow-Forecast
So far the forecast is calling for snowfall to ramp up Sunday evening but the highlight of the forecast is that light winds are set to accompany the heavy snowfall. Those light winds should allow the snow to settle and set up, creating solid base coverage in landscape that is notorious for getting wind affected.
