Lindsey Vonn has owned finish lines since bursting onto the world cup stage at the young age of 16. Now, at the age of 31, Vonn is looking to continue her racing career but this time it could be on asphalt instead of on snow.

Back in June, Vonn headed to the Red Bull Ring in Austria to test her hand in Formula 2.0 (140mph) and 3.5 Renault race cars (180 mph) and she did surprisingly well. In an interview with Red Bull, Vonn explained that she saw distinct similarities between ski racing and car racing saying, “In both sports you need the right timing. When to speed up, when to hit the brakes and how to find the best line.”

Still, Vonn hopes to compete through the 2018 Winter Olympics and even hopes to ski against the guys down the road. Former FIS Worldcup champion, Luc Alphand (also sponsored by Red Bull) went on to race cars after his prolific ski career and even won the Dakar Rally in 2006.
