Missing skier Monty Busbee

Authorities have confirmed that the human remains found on June 4th near Kendall Peak on Snoqualmie Pass are that of 43 year-old Montague “Monty” Busbee reports the Tri-City Herald. Bussbee disappeared while backcountry skiing on Snoqualmie Pass back on December 19th.

According to police reports, 43-year-old Montague “Monty” Busbee was last seen leaving his home on the 19th before leaving his car in the Lower Summit West parking lot for what would be his final ski tour.

A spokesperson for the King County Sheriff’s Office said the death was likely the result of an avalanche that buried Busbee in the Kendall Peak area. Reports indicate that he died from compressional asphyxiation.
