Alta is for skiers and now it appears as though the Little Cottonwood Canyon ski area may be home to an aerial tram in the future reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

As of April 22, Alta Ski Area received initial approval from the US Forest Service for what could include sweeping improvements. Those improvements include a new aerial tramway to the top of Baldy, a high speed quad to replace the Supreme and Cecret lifts, as well as a new lift named “Flora,” which will remove the need to use the East Greeley traverse between Sugarloaf and Collins.

And those are just 3 of the 12 possible improvements.

Other significant developments include a revamped transportation plan to ease canyon traffic, Albion lift replacement, and GazEx avalanche mitigation sites; including one on Patsey Marley
