While Toronto is not recognized as a skier’s city, “The 6” is about to get its very own indoor ski center starting in late June. The new facility will be home to the Axis Freestyle Academy and so far construction is approximately 50% complete reports blogTO.

The ski center will be located near the Vaughan Mills outlet mall and includes a dry-slope with a focus on freestyle progression. Rails, ramps, and other features will be available for skiers and riders to hone their skills. Also, features will be movable, so beginners will have room to learn as well.

In addition to the dry slope, the facility will also have a number of trampolines and foam pits allowing little jibbers to finally get the grab. Axis Freestyle will be the second dry slope, indoor ski center in Toronto.

About Axis Freestyle Academy

Axis Freestyle Academy will be Canada’s first all-in-one, year-round Dryslope Freestyle Training Facility for Skiing and Snowboarding. Planned to open for spring 2016 and located conveniently in the city of Vaughan (Hwy. 400/Bass Pro Mills Dr.), the 20,000 sq.ft facility will be equipped with custom high performance trampolines, a variety of jumps and rails, foam pits, a gym and multi-purpose/yoga studio.
