It appears as though the Föhn (warm southern wind) is in effect till Thursday before wind patterns shift toward a northern orientation. Those northern winds should bring colder temperatures and lower snow levels to the mountains by early Friday and last through Sunday.
It appears as though Saas Fee and Zermatt will bear the brunt of this oncoming storm but locations such as Andermatt, Engelberg, and Airolo should benefit from large accumulations over the course of the next 6 days as well.
What does that mean?
A much larger snowpack for the likes of Saas Fee and Zermatt’s glacier skiing in the summertime.
