Winter Park 2
It’s not stopping at Winter Park

While April can pack some serious snow showers, rarely does the late spring month boast the deepest days of the entire season. However, for a few lucky Colorado resorts that continue to spin lifts, this weekend has proven to be one of the best weekends of the entire season and today is one of those days you don’t want to miss.

Wildcards: Aspen and Vail could receive up to 20″ of snow throughout today making them our wildcard picks for seriously deep storm skiing.

Note: Arapahoe Basin only opened its lifts for the last hour and a half of Saturday’s operations due to high winds. That closure makes the ski area a favorite for untracked lines today.

Colorado Avalanche Advisory

Avalanche danger has risen considerably in the last 72 hours with much of the state currently reporting Considerable danger near and above treeline. Soft storm slabs could be easily triggered by the weight of a single skier and the CAIC recommends conservative terrain choices and thorough snowpack assessment before traveling into avalanche terrain today.
