Telluride ski resort is enjoying powder conditions after a spring snowstorm dropped nearly two feet of snow on their mountains.
Telluride is a former silver mining camp on theSan Miguel River in the western San Juan Mountains. The first gold mining claim was made in the mountains above Telluride in 1875 and early settlement of what is now Telluride followed. The ski resort opened 1972, when the first ski lift was installed by Telluride Ski Resort founderJoseph T. Zoline and his Telluride Ski Corporation (Telco).
