Lindsey Vonn’s historic season is officially over. Since securing the world cup downhill title, numerous FIS records, and a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit spread, the world cup leader is calling it quits. The decision comes on the heels of further medical testing in Barcelona that showed the fractures in her left knee to be more significant that initially suspected.

Vonn suffered the knee injuries during a crash in the Super-G event in Soldeu, Andorra. During the race, Vonn was thrown off course by a patch of soft snow. She was subsequently carried off the course in a stretcher. But in typical Vonn fashion, the best female skier in US history battled through the injury and competed the next day.

She ended up finishing 13th and extending her overall point lead by 28 points.
