If there’s anything I’ve learned from my research into Southern California ski areas, it’s that they’re pretty grimy. From homicides to gun shots, it seems as though nothing goes right at the resorts outside of cities like San Bernardino and Bakersfield other than skiing.

According to The Press Enterprise, 31 year-old Jennifer Magana fired four shots into the air in the Snow Valley Mountain Resort parking lot on Saturday afternoon in order to break up a fight between her husband and four others. Police officials are reporting that the couple have since been arrested. Her husband, 37 year-old Anthony Magana was reportedly the one who instigated the confrontation.

So far reason for the conflict is unclear but the reasoning behind firing shots in the air was to stop the incident from escalating further…

Good Job!

Multiple 911 calls were made after the gun was fired and the San Bernardino National Forest officials responded to the situation as if it were an “active shooter situation.” After being committed to jail for battery, Anthony Magana was bailed out to the tune of $100,000. Jennifer was given a citation for “discharging a firearm” in a public place.

The investigation is ongoing.
