A new page was added to skiing’s history books Friday evening as Angel Collinson became the first woman to take home the coveted Powder Award for “Best Line” at the annual award show hosted by Powder Magazine.

Powder Magazine’s Recap: A Night of Firsts

It was the first time in the awards ceremony’s 16-year-long history that a female took home the award and Collinson added it to her quiver of hardware that included ‘Best Female Performance’ as well as the ‘Women’s Powder Poll Winner.’

She beat out 10-time winner, Ingrid Backstrom to whom she dedicated the award proclaiming, “All hail Ingrid,” mid-acceptance speech.

During her speech, Collinson also gave a shout out to the men in the room, who included mentors such as Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Ian Mcintosh saying, “Thank you to all the men, the TGR boys and the men who support us women and bring us into your fold and give us opportunities and support us and believe us. I would not be here without you.”

She later added We’re doing it, ladies!”

Last year’s ‘Line of the Year’ went to Cody Townsend for sending the now famous Tordrillo pinner couloir.
