Yep, you read that right. North Face is partnering with Japanese startup Spiber to produce a slick parka that is apparently fit for Super-Man. Not sure what my first stress test for the new product would be but I’ll film it. Hold my beer honey, I’m testing this new spider web parka deal from North Japan.

Called the Moon Parka, the garment is reportedly “the world’s first piece of clothing made from artificial protein material.” The synthetic spider silk is woven into a fabric they are calling QMONOS fiber.

The North Face is hoping for a commercial release of the coat in 2016. There’s currently no word on estimated pricing.

The process is described in more detail, in this article from gizmag.com.
