Park City's new trail map

Starting Saturday, November 21st, Park City Mountain Resort will open as the biggest ski resort in the USA.

After Vail Resorts $182.5 million dollar acquisition of the Utah ski resort and their subsequent incorporation of its next-door neighbor Canyons, Park City will contain a whopping 7,300 skiable acres. So far, Vail Resorts has put in another $50 million towards improvements to the gargantuan resort. The only resort bigger in North America is Whistler Blackcomb, which has 8,171 acres to its name.

The brand new Quicksilver Gondola is the biggest change coming to Park City. The new lift will allow skiers to ski into Canyons from Park City via a new midway station. Other improvements include the newly constructed Miners Camp restaurant, renovations to the Summit House and Red Pine restaurants, added snowmaking, and a capacity increase to the King Con lift. Also, the Motherlode lift is now a detachable, high-speed quad.

So far, terrain announcements for opening day are TBD but you can stay up to date by visiting the Park City website: www.parkcitymountain.com
