A strong and fast-moving winter storm will move through Colorado today and tomorrow, bringing significant accumulations to the mountains and blizzard conditions to areas of the Front Range with a focus on portions of northeastern Colorado. 

Resorts in the front range of Summit County and Clear Creek County should receive significant snowfall from the storm system. Look out for Arapahoe Basin, KeystoneCopper Mountain, and Loveland Ski Area

Blizzard Conditions will be possible over the Eastern Plains…Denver area and Palmer Divide Monday Night into Tuesday as wind gusts to 50 mph. Snow amounts will range from 4 to 12 inches. Elsewhere expect heavy snow in the mountains and southern foothills with snow amounts from 8 to 16 inches. Snow accumulations across the urban corridor will range from 4 to 8 inches with 1 to 3 inches in the Fort Collins and Greeley areas.- NWS Boulder

Current models are calling for up to 2 feet in places and Loveland Pass could receive up to 24” of snow by Tuesday evening.

MST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS
MORNING TO 8 AM MST TUESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.

* TIMING…SNOW WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY AFTERNOON AND THEN BECOME
HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT. SNOW WILL BEGIN DIMINISHING BY MIDDAY
TUESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…10 TO 20 INCHES OF NEW SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* WIND/VISIBILITY…NORTHWEST WINDS AT 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP
TO 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE…CAUSING SOME BLOWING SNOW AND
VISIBILITIES RESTRICTED TO A HALF MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS…TRAVEL MAY BECOME DIFFICULT AT TIMES DUE TO HEAVY
SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ON ROADWAYS AND POOR VISIBILITIES IN
BLOWING SNOW.
