Following a number of preseason snowfalls across the west, ski resorts in 6 states as well as in Canada will be open for skiing and riding this weekend. Large snowfalls have allowed a number of these resorts to open ahead of their scheduled opening dates.

Heavenly

“It’s here! The day we’ve all been waiting for since April, Opening Day 2015. And what an exciting opening day. Not only are we celebrating our 60th anniversary – might I add that we’re lookin’ good at 60 – but we’re also opening early with INCREDIBLE snow conditions.

Our snowmakers have been hard at work, around the clock, to add to the goods Mother Nature has already delivered. Cold temps throughout the month have been ideal for the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system. So the big question is, what lifts and trails will be open for opening day? Drum roll please…

We plan to operate the Gondola, Tamarack Express, Dipper Express, Big Easy, Tubing Lift (for skiing and riding access only, no tubing) and Bear Cave Carpet for Ski and Ride School lessons. This will give us access to California Trail, Tamarack Return, Orion’s and Easy Street.

Reminder that all skiing and riding access is through the Gondola and the Gondola is set to start spinning at 8:30 am. To celebrate our 60th anniversary opening we’ll have commemorative swag and other fun surprises throughout the day. We hope to see you there!” – See more at: skiheavenly.com
