Kieran Brookes, 14, was attempting to get off a six-seater lift when a strap on his backpack got caught on the chair. The boy was left dangling in the air with straps and clothing blocking off his airway.

Cettour, who was the supervisor of the lift, was not at his post at the time of the accident. It has been reported that he also failed to press the emergency stop button despite skiers urging him to do so.

Cettour has been given a six-month suspended prison sentence for his roll in the tragic event.
