After a record breaking year in terms of visitors, Yellowstone National Park will close the majority of its roads this upcoming Monday at 8am MST in preperation of the winter season ahead reports the Cody Enterprise. The exception to the rule being the north entrance to the park at Gardiner, which accesses Mammoth Hot Spings and the sled/ski mecca of Cooke City year around.

Still, park officials are recommending guests traveling through the park over weekend to be well prepared for variable conditions on the roads.

Chains, snowtires, and 4X4 advisories will be in affect if weather deterioates in certain areas.
