It looks as though Mt. Rose wasn’t the only resort to jump the proverbial snowgun…

Copper Mountain will be delayed by at least one week. The resort, which plans to open just a week past their orginally planned opening day, is dissapointed it couldn’t allow skiers and riders onto its slopes. However with unseasonably warm temperatures, the Summit County resort felt that it was in the public’s safety and best interest to push back opening day.

The opening day is now November 13. Last year, the resort opened on November, 7.

“Copper Mountain takes great pride in providing a quality top to bottom snow product for Opening Day each and every winter season,” said a press release from the resort.

Meanwhile the Woodward Barn is open for business and will be hosting open skate times from 2-8pm.

Also a US Ski Team events will be postponed: Due to warm temperatures and the U.S. Ski Team athletes’ training schedule, the First Tracks: U.S. Alpine Ski Team Naming has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21.
