Skiing the Alps this winter? It looks like it may be a good year to do so as Accuweather just released their European Winter Forecast, which predicts a stormy winter for much of central Europe.

This forecast comes on the heels of a mass of arctic air that is currently building over Scandinavia. Meteorologists from Accuweather say that the mass of polar air will eventually push storms south into central Europe, leaving England and northern France with fairly mild weather and giving the alps more storms during the upcoming winter!

“While areas from central France and northern Spain through the Alps and into eastern Europe will experience a high number of storm systems, northern France and much of the United Kingdom will be spared the worst of winter’s vengeance.”Accuweather Meteorologist, Eric Leister

Also, it appears that Russia will have an unseasonably stormy winter as well with Moscow forecasted to have over 100 precipitous days during this winter! The meat and potatoes of all this forecasting? It may be a good winter to check out the tree skiing @ Krasnaya Polyana!
