During a recent dive, Kenny Broad and his team experienced an underwater avalanche of debris while exploring a narrow cave in the Blue Holes cave system in the Bahamas.

The avalanche left the team in a veritable soup, leaving them disoriented and without any real visibility. The only thing that saves divers in such situations is their “guide line,” which leads out of the cave in case visibility is lost.

“Without that line, you have low odds of getting out”
