Mt. Rose Lake Tahoe

According to Transworld Business, Mt. Rose just allocated $1.2 million towards creating a better beginner environment at the resort known to locals as the hidden gem of the greater Tahoe ski scene. The improvements, which include a relocation of the Ponderosa Chairlift as well as the creation of four new trails designed for beginners, will expand the terrain options for novice and intermediate skiers reports Transworld Business.

Although this might not be what locals typically hope for, the change will free up intermediate and expert terrain while changing the flow of the mountain to accommodate beginners in beginner areas.

“Our goal is to continue to enhance the guest experience – both for first time skiers and snowboarders, and those who have been visiting Mt. Rose for years”Mike Pierce, director of marketing at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.

Also included in the upgrades is an improved snowmaking system, a renovated children’s ski school registration area, an improved Timbers bar, and a relocated and upgraded Main Lodge ski check in.
