Big Air Competitions are flooding into metropolitan areas as of late and now you can add London to the list of city-based venues for the freestyle discipline. This upcoming November, Boardmasters in conjunction with the FIS will host what they are referring to as Freeze Big Air. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will serve as the venue for FIS Snowboarding Big Air World Cup. Also included in the event will be a Skiing Big Air Invitational.

Olympic Bronze Medalist and Freeze Big Air ambassador, Jenny Jones hopes the comp will evolve into a qualifying event for future Winter Olympics, subsequently bringing the Brits into the forefront of the freestyle discipline.

“The news that Snowboard Big Air will be an Olympic discipline in 2018 is huge for British snowboarding”– Jenny Jones .

Here is what you need to know:

  • Freeze Big Air will host the FIS Snowboard World Cup Big Air on Saturday 14th November.
  • A real snow jump will be built measuring 120m x 41m (that’s 15 metres longer than the Wembley Stadium pitch)
  • The event will truck in 360 tons of snow
