The Hermitage Ski Club at Haystack Mountain has agreed to pay $205,000 in civil penalties for violating the state’s land use and environmental permitting laws.
The settlement resolves allegations that the Hermitage Ski Club at Haystack Mountain in Southern Vermont failed to obtain land-use permits for a construction project and only filed applications for those permits after the work had been completed.
The violations included unauthorized work on dams and in wetlands and unpermitted discharges into state waters.
