Brook Yeomans, who was involved in the Sunday avalanche on Mount Moran that killed two, is currently recovering from injuries.
Brook sustained chest and leg injuries after a shallow wet slide hit the group of ski mountaineers. The group was ascending the “Sickle Couloir” on Mount Moran in Grand Teton National Park when the incident occurred.
During the climb, one man reported hearing a “dull sound coming from above.”
After the slide, lead climber Zahan Billimoria reached Yeomans first. Yeomans phoned for help, while Billimoria moved to the other two climbers, who were situated 100 feet downhill from Yeomans. Luke Lynch was not breathing and did not exhibit a pulse. Both Billimoria and Yeomans battled to keep Stephen Adamson Jr. alive but he eventually died Tuesday in Idaho Falls.
Brook’s father, Robert Yeomans arrived in Jackson, WY on Wednesday, where Brook lives with his wife and two children. According to Robert, “Brook is dealing with physical issues,” adding “He is also dealing with some traumatic emotional issues and has a lot of support from friends, neighbors, and co-workers.”
The individuals involved were all described as “avid, astute, and detail oriented mountain adventurers familiar with the Tetons.”
