Silverton, CO- According to Chris Davenport’s Instagram account @steepsking, “The Centennial Peaks Project is a wrap.”

Chris Davenport, Christy Mahon, and Ted Mahon capped off their Centennial Peaks Project Thursday with the successful ascent and descent of Jagged Peak in the eastern San Juan Mountains. With the 13, 842’ Jagged Peak in the bag, the group becomes the first team to have climbed and skied all the Centennial Peaks.

The accomplishment is as inspiring as it is daunting and after completing the project without major injuries or death, the group has solidified their place in skiing and climbing history. Completing the Centennial Peaks Project puts a massive cherry on top of Davenport’s already publicized feat of skiing every 14’er in a single year. The project also speaks to the Mahon’s heavily decorated skiing careers, which have flown under the radar compared to Davenport. Ted finished skiing all the 14’ers in the Colorado in 2008, while Christy was the first woman to ski every 14’er in 2010. And now after skiing the remaining 47 peaks above 13,800’+, all three are in an exclusive club that requires some serious commitment to join. I have a feeling it’s going to be a club of three people for quite some time.
