A new project headed by Les Otten, the former head of American Ski Company and part owner of the Red Sox (from 2002-2007), would create the largest ski resort on the east coast from a ski hill that’s been closed since 2011.

If things go as plan, The Balsams Wilderness Ski Area in New Hampshire will not only reopen (Balsams has been closed since September of 2011 for renovations) but will become bigger than Killington making it the largest ski resort in New England.

No word on when the resort will be completed but according to the plans that have been made public the resort will be serviced by 22 modern lifts.
