New England will likely see decent snowfall beginning Saturday morning in MA and by late morning or early afternoon for areas from Manchester NH through Portland Maine. Â Most snow will be just inland from the coast. Â Areas south like Wachusett mountain may end up with the highest amounts or perhaps near Gunstock in southern New Hampshire? Â Details still emerging on how far inland snow will be falling.
The Cascades unfortunately stay warm in the extended with rain likely in the near term. The activity in the Rockies  will be a storm system emerging from the Baja and edging up through Arizona early next week (Some wet snow likely late Monday-Tuesday at Arizona Snowbowl).  That system weakens as it moves due north through Utah and Wyoming on Wednesday.  Some wet snow is likely in the higher peaks of the Wasatch, Tetons, and western Colorado mid week (High snow levels).  Amounts should be light to perhaps moderate in a few isolated areas.
Extended:  A strong and moist system will develop in Mexico and edge due north through southern NM late next week. That system has the potential for significant rain and snow. Currently areas in NM seem favored however some moisture might edge north into the San Juans and northern Arizona by the weekend?  The good news is that the 1st week of February looks active!  Even the Sierra may see some snowfall as a system moves in from the Pacific and edges into the intermountain West by midweek (February 2-5).  That can easily change this far out. My hopes are high for additional snow for the Rockies, decent moisture with higher than normal temperatures.
