A snowboarder is dead following a tree strike at Keystone, Colorado.  The 26-year-old Colorado man was pronounced dead Saturday after he lost control while on an intermediate run.

The snowboarder, identified as Eric Haiar of Silverthorne, died of blunt force trauma injuries, the Summit County Coroner report says. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Keystone Ski Patrol responded to the scene on Saturday morning, and Haiar was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

It’s not clear whether Haiar got into the accident on Friday or Saturday.

The incident remains under investigation.

Haiar is the second person to have died in a week at a Colorado ski resort ( Skier Found Dead at Eldora Ski Resort ).
