Mad River Glen is OPENING FRIDAY!!!

16-31″ of new snow from this weather system encouraged us to re-think things and open tomorrow!

The snow was exactly what we needed  – stiff and lots of it plastered to absolutely everything.  It is the kind of stuff that will get better and better the more that it is skied. On Tuesday the first wave of the Nor’easter brought us a foot of wet and heavy snow at the base of General Stark Mountain with much more on top. During the early hours of Wednesday the temperatures moderated a bit which compressed the snow pack and we saw a mixed bag of precipitation. By early afternoon the precipitation changed back to all snow and it was coming down fast and furious, this morning we counted a fresh 7″ on the deck of the Single. It looks like we may even get some more today and right on into the weekend. It looks like we will be close to 100% open when the lifts start spinning tomorrow morning at 9 AM – Stay tuned to this report for details as the mountain ops crew and patrol are up on the hill prepping the mountain for your skiing pleasure
