Following the acquisition of Park City Mountain Resort, Vail Resorts’ has block the sale of coffee by local coffee company Park City Coffee Roaster. The company has been selling its PCMR blend at the resort since 2001.

Vail Resorts and Starbucks have a partnership making Starbucks the official coffee of Vail Resorts. The partnership thus prohibits the sale of competitors coffee.

Park City Coffee Roaster sells it’s coffee throughout the state of Utah. In Park City alone the company has approximately 20 restaurants as clients.Robert Hibl, co-owner of Park City Coffee Roaster, said the company typically sold between 8,000 pounds and 10,000 pounds of the PCMR blend to the resort accounting for $20,000 in profits annually.
