“THE WALL” is a camp event that has taken place in Niigata prefecture’s Oku-Tadami-Maruyama Ski Area for 6 years.
Its characteristic course featuring a variety of 3D terrains, including the specially shaped bowl, lets the rider read, chose and actually ride a line as if in a true natural terrain. It exemplifies the potential of a deeper snowboarding experience. It didn’t take long before this movement dragged the attention of the locals of many different areas.
Too bad this event is no longer held. Â There are similar setups state-side but somehow this seemed cooler. Â Like Japan, not crazy huge but jam packed with interesting things.
