Lost Valley in Auburn, Maine will reopen this season after the owners raised $22,000 in capital after going public with their financial problems.

Privet donors contributed much of the money but Emerson Toyota and Sunday River Ski Resort each kicked in $5,000 to help the ski area stay open. The little ski mountain in Maine plants to run at least one of the mountain’s two chairs and open two thirds of the trails for the 2014-2015 winter ski season.
