The English publication, The Telegraph, has released a list of the “23 best songs for skiing and snowboarding”. We think the list is quite laughable. I mean where is Boys Club by Ween, Dreamers on the Rise by Harkin Banks or Dancing With The Mountain by John Denver? Take a look at the list and let us know what you would add in the comments below.

23 of the best songs for skiing and snowboarding

From: telegraph.co.uk

“Skiing and snowboarding provides the perfect opportunity to appreciate the calm, cool and quiet of nature and be at one with the mountains. But it’s also bloomin’ invigorating and one of the best times to harness the power of song and belt out a tune at the top of your lungs while carving the bejesus out of a piste.”

The Who Baba O’Riley
A synth intro that’s a perfect soundtrack for glistening snow, then when it kicks in it’s all about goosebump-inducing, fist-pumping, piste-burning energy.

Various Let it Snow
Hopefully one to be sung joyfully among falling flakes rather than as a desperate plea.

The Doors – LA Woman
Not much skiing in Los Angeles, but this tune is perfect for swaggering your way down a pristine groomer.

Jimi Hendrix Crosstown Traffic
The guitar magician is bound to get your feet stamping on the slope – but keep an eye out for crosspiste traffic.

Wham Last Christmas
With a video filmed in the Swiss ski resort of Saas Fee, we dare you to hit the slopes on Christmas day and not sing this classic. Nope. Impossible.

Jimmy Eat World – Sweetness
The chance to wail “Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh”s all the way down the slope is strangely satisfying and too attractive to leave this rocker off the list.

High School Musical Breaking Free
“We’re soaring, flying…” Yes, we are. And this guilty pleasure is a joy to sing at the top of your lungs on a wide, open piste.

CKY 96 Quite Bitter Beings
An infectious punk rock anthem for the old skool skateboarder-cum-rider crowd.

David Bowie – Let’s Dance
For when your instructor says you need more funk in your technique. So, always.

Muse – Stockholm Syndrome
With a riff powerful enough to rip your boots off and send you into overdrive, this track’s best saved for wide, empty slopes.

Unknown – The Moose Song (There was a Crazy Moose)
A popular singalong tune with dozens of variations – some ruder than others – for after-lunch fun and games.

The Who – Won’t Get Fooled Again
Classic rock ‘n’ roll for the mileage-hungry piste cruisers.

Sheer Taft Cascades
Café del Mar vibes from this 90s house gem – best enjoyed wearing a day-glo retro onesie.

Rage Against The Machine Killing in the Name of
Another for the angst-driven snow lover. Just remember the parental advisory warning on the lyrics; otherwise you might be escorted off the mountain.

Marvin Gaye – Purple Snowflakes
When the snow is falling, even if it is purple, mellow out in the flat light to a soothing classic.

Luther Vandross Never too Much
You just don’t wanna stop – but you should, that gravel ain’t good for skis. Whether shaking your hips to this will help your technique is unclear, but that’s not an issue right now.

Led Zeppelin Over the Hills and Far Away
A fitting title for the slopes, and if you are going to make it over the hills and far away you’re going to need the kicking power of some classic rock to support you.

At The Drive-In – One Armed Scissor
High tempo, bouncy, shouty. And the nonsensical lyrics mean fellow slope users should give you a wide berth. If that doesn’t work, the chorus allows you to holler “Get away!” – handy when negotiating busy pistes.

AC/DC Back in Black
Ideal for getting revved up before hitting an extensive mogul field or gnarly bit of off piste.

Peter Sarstedt Where do you go to my Lovely?
A more sedate offering for some easy cruising, with a special nod in the lyrics to the high life of Swiss resort St Moritz.

Johnny Cash – Jackson
A shout from Telegraph Ski and Snowboard editor Henry Druce because it reminds him of one of his favourite ski resorts, Jackson Hole – apparently it is not written about any particular Jackson. Sorry Henry.

Snow Patrol – Run
Run? Nope, ski. This is here mainly because the Scottish band’s name is so fitting, but this modern indie pop classic also has worth as a soaring emotional sing along.

Talking Heads Once in a Lifetime
We’re not entirely sure what sort of slope experience this would best suit, but the spoken word segments will certainly bemuse fellow skiers and riders.
