The focus this week will be in the Northwest and with significant rainfall (2-5 inches) in the Cascades and moderate to heavy snow at the highest elevations of British Columbia (9-15 inches). Whistler may be the benefactor at upper elevations by Wednesday night (9-18 inches).  The Cascades will stay in the warm sector until later this weekend when colder air moves and and some light upper elevation snow is possible.   Before that happens over 4 inches of rain is likely especially Wednesday/Thursday with the cold air stuck up north.  “Atmospheric River Event”

Help us out!  Light snow is possible in northern Wyoming Tuesday night and a slight chance over the highest peaks of Utah (1-2 inches).    The EXTENDED FORECAST looks interesting for the weekend  Moderate moisture will continue in the Northwest and slowly drop a cold front south towards the Sierra by Saturday.  Some snow is possible in the northern Sierra this weekend which will migrate to the Wasatch, Tetons, and northern Colorado by Sunday night.  I won’t put bets on amounts just yet but would vote for deeper amounts in the Sierra?    The long range models show a healthy plume of moisture and colder air for the Cascades near the end of the month!

Keep the snow dances going!
