1. Białka Tatrzańska, Poland

Białka Tatrzańska is a village in southern Poland, close to the border with Slovakia. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of Bukowina Tatrzańska, 16 km (10 mi) north-east of Zakopane, and 75 km (47 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków. The village has a population of 2,200. A skiing center in the village attracts many tourists and has improved the economy of the area. Many residents have created chalets and bed and breakfast facilities to accommodate skiers.

2. Saint Jean d’Aulps , France

St Jean d’Aulps is located just outside of the small French village bearing the same name. The resort is part of the Portes Du Soleil area which has been one of the biggest players in world skiing for the last 40 years, with 12 linked resorts either side of the French-Swiss border just an hour from Geneva.

3. Gruesch Danusa , Switzerland

Grüsch-Danusa is a small family ski resort in the Graubünden region of Switzerland. The resort is located close to its much more famous relatives of Klosters and Davos. The resort focuses on families with few off-piste options but what they do have stays untracked for days.

5. Kalavrita Ski Center , Greece

On Mt. Helmós, at an altitude of 2,340m, we find the most important ski resort in Peloponnese. Being the second largest ski resort in Greece, it is located in a breathtaking fiery alpine landscape. Due to its close proximity to Athens and to its first-class facilities many skiers visit it throughout the ski season. Here, the famous black and red runs of Styga challenge even the most expert skiers.

Kalavryta ski resort boasts 12 ski runs (2 difficult, 2 intermediate, 6 easy & 2 very easy) of 20km in length, 2 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts, special grounds for snowboarding and extreme games, and other winter attractions, such as a special moguls ski run, and a snowboard park. Visitors at Helmós mountain can also find coffee shops, snack bars, restaurants, ski rental facilities and sporting goods, organized ski school and First Aid Station.

Ski France Combloux Resort Altitude 1000m – Combloux referred to as the “Pearl of the Alps” by writer, Victor Hugo is located amongst a variety of glistening glaciers and is a fabulous base to use when exploring the extensive skiing on offer of the Mt Blanc region. The heart of historic Combloux is an authentic and charming Savoyard mountain village maintaining many of its original features. There are three ski areas linked buy the single “Portes du Mount Blanc “lift pass, Combloux, La Giettaz and Cordon. It is a wonderful breath taking natural setting in which to enjoy skiing for all levels of ability with gentle well prepared terrain for beginners. For intermediates and experts there are some long and challenging descents and a selection of adrenalin filled steeps with the dramatic scenery of Mont Blanc never far from sight.

7. Sainte-Foy, France

Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is a village in the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie, France. The old village lies on the main road between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val-d’Isère. About 4 km above the village (turning left at La Thuile) is the ski resort of Sainte Foy (referred as Sainte Foy Station). It is a small resort with four chairlifts, 15 slopes and accommodation for 2,500 people. Sainte Foy has groomed pistes which are often very quiet, but it is more famous for the off-piste skiing and snowboarding.

8. Adelboden , Switzerland

Adelboden, in Switzerland (in the Bernese Oberland region), is a large resort with 42 lifts (8 chairs, 24 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1050 metres (3445 feet) of vertical descent. Adelboden has 85 pistes with a total length of 170 kilometers (106 miles). Adelboden is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for beginners and advanced skiers. There are 23 kilometers (14 miles) of cross country ski trails at Adelboden. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and 2 half pipes. About one third of the pistes at Adelboden are covered by snow-making.
