As we reported yesterday, Vail Resorts and Talisker Holdings have won a courts decision against Park City Mountain Resort over the land the resort operates on. It all came down to Park City Mountain Resort missing a key deadline to renew its lease. The sweetheart deal would have allowed PCMR to lease the land for a mere $150,000 a year.

In a ruling handed down Wednesday afternoon, 3rd District Court Judge Ryan Harris said most of Park City Mountain Resort’s claims fell short.

“The Court, as least as much as most members of the Summit County community, had certainly hoped that the parties to this litigation would have been able to find a way, at some point during the many months this case has been pending, to resolve the situation amicably for the good of everyone including the community, and keep both resorts operating in something close to the usual manner,” he wrote.
