Despite attempts by police to close the event, the world famous “Cheese-Rolling At Cooper’s Hill In Gloucestershire” still went ahead.

Thousands of people turned up from around the world to witness the yearly event that involves participants chasing a wheel of cheese down a steep hill. The local Rugby team stood guard to catch people when they reached the bottom of the hill. Injuries are reported every year and this year was no exception. One person broke their ankle, another contestant broke their arm and yet another suffered concussion.

The organisation of the event is done in secret since no one-person wants to take responsibility and be sued by the authorities. Locals claim the tradition goes back hundreds of years with the winner keeping the cheese and revelling in the glory.
