Speed Skiing New recored holder Simone Origone

A new speed skiing record was set today on the speed course at Chabrieres in the French Alps.

Italian Simone Origone broke his own world record with a speed of 252.4kmh (156.8mph). Origone previous record was 251.4kmh (156.2mph) which he clocked in April 2006 at Les Arcs.

The 1,220 metres Chabrieres slope has a maximum gradient of 98percent, and an average of 52.5percent.
