Gore-Mountain

Nicholas Hansen, 20, was killed Thursday morning when he lost control and struck a tree stump at Gore Mountain Ski Resort.

Warren County Lt. Steven Stockdale said Hansen was skiing with his mother and a family member when he lost control in slushy conditions and struck a tree stump.

Hansen was brought down to the base of the mountain by ski patrol, where the Johnsburg EMS personnel took over.

“It’s the hardest kind of day for us,” Gore Marketing Manager Emily Stanton said. “We are deeply saddened. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.”
