EPIC ALERT!    The Sierra is going to get blasted with 2 significant storms.  The first moves in Tuesday night and peaks on Wednesday morning.  Temps will crash to the valley floors Wednesday-Thursday with lake level snow (5-9) and heavy mountain snow (15-20 inches).  Winds will be a factor late Tuesday and will trend lower for some deep powder skiing by noon Wednesday.  Snow will extend to the Mammoth with slightly lower amounts.    Another deep storm moves into the Sierra this weekend and stalls Saturday/Sunday in the north.  This has potential for another 2 feet through Monday!  That storm migrates into Southern CA by late in the weekend so areas from Mammoth and south could see significant dumpage by Monday afternoon!  More snow possible for late Tuesday/Wednesday (Moderate amounts).

ROCKIES:  Snow will be falling over central Idaho, southern Montana, TetonsWasatchWednesday-Friday.  Highlights in our models show heavier amounts towards the Wasatch beginning AM Wednesday and continuing through Wednesday evening (5-9)  A break in the action late Wednesday will lead to another round of heavy snow for Thursday morning through evening (5-9 additional).   Double storm ski Powder Days likely (Wednesday-Thursday).   Areas to the north in Idaho and Wyoming will see light to moderate amounts (4-8).

Colorado grabs action Wednesday afternoon through Thursday AM (5-9) and again Thursday afternoon through Friday (5-9).  Westerly flow will allow moisture to accumulate in many areas from I-70 in Summit County, Steamboat, Aspen, Monarch, and the 4 corners. My picks would most likely keep me anywhere from Aspen and north (Double powder days- Thursday or Friday).  Bring it on!

Central Idaho and the Tetons might get more consistent snow by late in the weekend when  a cold front seems to hang up near Sun Valley and extend to the Tetons Saturday/Sunday. That front edges into northern Utah late Sunday (Stay tuned).
