Zion National Park BASE JUMPPhoto: Dave Stamboulis

The body of BASE Jumper Sean Leary was found this past weekend by authorities in Zion National Park. Leary was widely considered as one of the most talented climbers of his generation. He climbed El Capitan in Yosemite National Park many times, including three routes in one day with Alex Honnold.

Sean Leary was the third BASE jumper to die in Zion this year. Another jumper was killed earlier this month after he illegally jumped from one of the park’s many cliff faces. The third death was a 28-year-old newlywed fell 2,000 feet to her death in Zion National Park after her parachute failed to open while jumping with her husband.
