Where did you grow up skiing? Alpine Meadows, Ca

Where is your home hill now? Alpine

What is your favorite thing about your home hill? It’s home. It’s unique. It’s big and a lot of people think it’s a small resort. Lots of good terrain that’s not very accessible directly from a chair so you have to earn your turns and the group of friends that ski together is awesome, makes it that much better.

When was your first Freeskiing competition? 2011 FWT Kirkwood Ca

How did it go? It was fun, it was completely new. I lived in Tahoe and had only skied at Kirkwood a few times. Definitely didn’t know about the cirque. I had to qualify and did and when I was doing inspection after a gnarly weather day I was pretty nervous. I found a line that had a bunch of pow ended up falling but it was awesome. The whole experience was unreal

What is your favorite part of the FWQ? What keeps you coming back? It’s a massive group of friends getting together in cool ski towns and having a ton of fun. But I like competing and I do want to make the Freeride World Tour. The fun comes first though

What have you been working on improving for this season? Expectations

What do you do to train for the FWQ? Lots if biking. Given the bad year in Tahoe I’ve spent quite a lot of time on my bike. Also just various activity a keeping me feeling young. Biking is my number one trainer though

Do you have a favorite event on the FWQ? Snowbird has always been my favorite. The crowd makes it. The energy at the bottom is awesome. And the venues are long and have lots of features.

Who is your favorite rider? Who influenced you most? Boyd Easly. I don’t think I spelt his last name right. He always looked like he was having fun and did things different. I like that.

If you could go skiing with anyone, who would it be? Shane Mcconkey
