Andrew Pollard

The young Alta ripper is all grown up and shredding harder than ever. After seeing AP and some of his buddies ripping around Alta yesterday on one of the best non-powder days of skiing of all time I thought it would be appropriate to highlight one of the FWQ’s most promising freshmen. Enjoy:)

Where did you grow up skiing? Alta, UT

Where is your home hill now? Alta, UT

What is your favorite thing about your home hill? I love the feeling that is there. It is a mecca of skiing powder, and with that comes the best people. Blower Powder is only made better with your best friends.

When was your first Freeskiing competition? Crystal Mountain Junior Freeskiing Comp- I was 13

How did it go? I won the qualifier by 11 point, then got 5th in the event. How could I not come back for more?

What is your favorite part of the FWQ? What keeps you coming back? This is my first season doing the full tour. I like to come back for the challenge and the chance to watch all my friends crush venues.

What have you been working on improving for this season? Im taking my Tricks to the big mountain. #typical

What do you do to train for the FWQ? I ski Alta top to bottom as hard as I can. It is the perfect training ground to test my skills and get better with the @blumpsquad

Do you have a favorite event on the FWQ? Snowbird was the best RIP-NWB. Now I like the venues that squaw has to offer. Light towers to CII could yield to some really amazing skiing.

Who is your favorite rider? Who influenced you most? My biggest influence would be Jim Jack. He taught me that freeskiing was more imporant than getting rad. The moments that we spend in the mounains are the most special. And the people that we meet are more than our friends.

But best skier on the FWQ? Drew Peterson

If you could go skiing with anyone, who would it be? Jim Jack

Sponsor shout outs? Tecnica Blizzard, Alta Ski Area, Obermeyer, Smith Optics, Discrete, Lightpole

Any other shout outs? My friends and family are awesome. The Blumpsquad kids on the Jr. IFSA tour. You are all the best and make me go way bigger and flatter than i want to. Thanks

Motto if you had to say one? “High Hopes low expectaions” -Prew

Anything else unique about you, your skiing story, and how you go to where you are now? I played with the puppies on the JFT, now Im ready to test my luck against the big hounds.
