Lift Baskets is a new company that is building AT specific ski pole baskets. We all know what a pain it can be on a cold winters morning when you can’t get your heel lifters down. Lift Baskets aims to solve this problem by building ski pole baskets that easily engage AT bindings.

The baskets have been designed by Hugh Patterson, a  mechanical engineer from Vancouver. Hugh will be launching the project on Kickstarter this week, so keep your eye out for that. In the meantime you can learn more at liftbaskets.com

“Starting with a duct tape and Fimo prototype, then building a fiberglass and epoxy version, Hugh worked on developing a new ski pole basket specifically designed to make exhausted climbing transitions a little bit easier. After a few more iterations, and input from many talented designers and skiers, the Lift Basket was born. Hugh might still be a bit out of shape, but with the help of this new, innovative pole basket, he’s ready for another round of chasing G in the backcountry.” – liftbaskets.com
