Year-round ferry service for North and South Lake Tahoe is one step closer to becoming a reality. The project to renovate and upgrade existing marinas and purchase ferries is currently soliciting public comments and drafting an environmental impact report. If the project comes to fruition visitors and locals alike will have a much easier time taking advantage of all the Tahoe area ski resorts. 

Highlights 

Timeline: By summer of 2016

Travel Time: Twenty-five minutes each way

Ferries: Two 120-passenger ferries making eight trips a day.

Cost: Annual operating costs come to $3.3 million.
