Ice Surge – Saskatchewan Water Security Agency

On May 1, 2013 a large surge in flow into the Codette Reservoir on the Saskatchewan River produced something rarely seen. A large mass of ice (rubble breaking front), driven by a sudden increase in flow ploughed its way for miles across the ice on the reservoir.
