Over the past 2 days 6 people have died in separate incidents across France and Switzerland. The recent recored setting snowfall has been very unstable resulting in a huge number of avalanches. 

Avalanche Deaths

Friday

Serre Chevalier, France: a 16-year old snowboarder killed by avalanche.

Courchevel, France:  guardian of a mountain hut killed by avalanche while ski touring to the refuge with his son.  His son survived.

St Moritz, Switzerland: victim killed in the Piz Nair area at an altitude of 3,000m.

Val Thorens, French: 7 people were caught but all survived.

Thursday

Realp, Switzerland: 27-year old Irishman killed as he was out cross-country skiing.

Bardonecchia, Italy: a Frenchman died in the Italian Alps  and a Spanish skier died in Andorra.

Andorra: Spanish skier killed in avalanche (not much known about this slide yet)
