WILL YOU SEE A WHITE THANKSGIVING? 10 DAY POWDER FORECAST

From, Powderchasers.com

November euphoria was rocking Wolf Creek as storm totals as of this morning are 42 inches in the past 4 days. Monarch picked up over a foot of fresh! It is still snowing lightly in the southern Colorado Mountains.  Taos New Mexico picked up 26 inches, and ArizonaSnowbowl between 19-25 inches! It is even snowing in Texas!

EAST

Models currently giving the West a break in the action where attention is focused on the East Coast.  Heavy rain will fall in the Mid-Atlantic region tonight and Tuesday edging it’s way into New England by Wednesday morning  The majority of precipitation will fall as rain with the exception of northern Vermont later in the period.   Mixed precipitation will spread across northern New England Wednesday before changing to rain. A cold front will push through northern New England late Wednesday into Thursday.   This will result in a quick blast of 4-6 inches of snow for the northern mountains of Vermont and a sure bet for a White Turkey Day!  You might be skiing on some frozen mank below the new snow. If you decided to chase the mank stay north and inland towards Stowe or Jay Peak.

WEST

Long term models show some moisture Thanksgiving Day  in northern British Columbia along the coast (That usually spells well for Alaska).  Southern CA will see light rain along the coast possibly migrating a few flakes inland towards Big Bear (Low confidence).    ACTION finally returns to theNorthwest late this weekend with what appears to be a cold push of air and moisture under NW flow. This will be a good pattern for most of southern BC,  and the central/northern Cascades.  This will bring accumulating snowfall to many areas before pushing inland through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado early next week.  Moderate to heavy hits might include resorts in the northern Rockies (Storm moves through quickly). There are hints of some pattern changes for the Sierra with a storm possible December 6th and again on the 11th (Larger storm).  Models are not reliable that far out but why not provide you some optimistic thoughts.

Below is the latest Powderchasers video shot on location at Wolf Creek over the last 3 days!  This was my first long chase of the season. We witnessed the Wolf hit the 100 inch mark for YTD snowfall.
